Responsible for planning, developing and implementing nutritional programs to the patients. You will also play an instrumental role in creating a healthy lifestyle environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Performs nutritional screening.
  • Assess individual patient’s nutritional needs so as to develop, customize and implement nutrition programs.
  • Provides diet-related advice - weight loss, cholesterol reduction etc.
  • Provides support to the Medical Practitioners by following up with the patient’s evaluation reports.
  • Participates in implementing standard operating procedures and protocols relating to patient care services.
  • Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plan to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counselling.
  • Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client.
  • Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
  • Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
  • Participating in external road shows to create awareness of healthy living.
  • Attend and participate in regular departmental activities, meetings and/or reports. 
  • Promote effective communication strategies and maintain good interdepartmental liaison.
  • Maintain confidentiality and objectivity in accordance with the ethics of the profession.
  • Promote and practice ­effective communication and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Practice with his/her area of competence and assume accountability for his/her professional responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Dietetics or Bachelor degree in a health Science with a major in Nutrition And Post-graduate diploma or master in Dietetics
  • At least two (2) years’ experience as Clinical Dietician in a health facility.
  • Experience in bariatric counselling and management of morbid obesity, pre-bariatric surgery, during immediate post-operative period and post-operative bariatric surgery care.
  • Demonstrates positive attitude, passion and pride in their work.
  • Must be registrable with Health Authority of Abu Dhabi.
  • Preferably BLS certified.
  • Ability to work independently and a team player.
  • Demonstrates positive attitude, passion and pride in your work.
  • Conversant in Arabic is an advantage.
