To elevate the quality of sports medicine care offered in the UAE, Healthpoint, a multi-specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi and part of Mubadala’s network of world-class healthcare providers has today announced a multi-year partnership extension with Manchester City Football Club. The partnership allows both organizations to work together to share best practices for treating athletes and other patients suffering from sports injuries throughout the UAE.
For a further three years, Healthpoint will continue to be the regional healthcare partner of Manchester City Football Club. Through this collaboration, medical staff from both organizations work together to discuss new treatment options and technologies with the objective of reaching better patient outcomes. Healthpoint has registered a high volume of sports medicine and orthopedic patient cases every year, therefore an internship program hosted at City Football Academy on the Etihad Campus in Manchester was created to facilitate the clinical collaboration to address this need. Also part of the program is an annual sport medicine summit held in Abu Dhabi allowing educational knowledge transfer to community physicians and physiotherapists across the UAE and the region.
Dr. Nader Darwich, Medical Director at Healthpoint, highlighted the importance of this partnership: “This renewed partnership brings a continuation of collaboration and expertise that guarantees to provide world-class healthcare practice here in the UAE, especially in the field of sports medicine. As one of the leading centers for sports-related injuries, prevention and rehabilitation in the Middle East, we want to encourage all generations of the UAE community to remain fit and to opt for a healthy life. Manchester City shares this value and is a great example of a Club that engages its staff and the local community to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.”
Commenting on the partnership extension, Damian Willoughby, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at Manchester City Football Group, said: “Manchester City is delighted to be extending its relationship with Healthpoint, a pioneer within its industry whose commitment to quality, collaboration and innovation echoes our own. Our partnership has gone from strength to strength over the past three years and we believe that together we can continue to share best practice within sports medicine.”
